June 14th 10:00 pm

Hey there everyone! Acey is doing so good. He had a few rough days to where he was just so tired and couldn't move very well and just completely exhausted. Well, yesterday we found out what was causing it, they were giving him sleeping pills when he didn't need them!! So he is now back on track. He did aspirate twice in the last two days but his lungs are sounding good. He still has his trach in and I think it will stay in for awhile longer to protect his airway especially now that he's been throwing up. But we have some really great news, Acey can pretty much sit up with very little assistants and lie down with very little assistants. Plus he sat on the Commode for the first time in probably two months with no assistants for twenty minutes! That right there is really big. We are so excited to see progress. We still don't know when he will be home, but as long as he is gaining ground we are thrilled to be able to keep in Rehab.

  1. Hey there, yourselves. :) I am so thrilled to have your update. Have been wondering how he was doing as of late...after the transfer to the Twin Falls Re-hab center. By the way, that new re-hab center looks wonderful from what I can tell...saw the report on the news about a week ago for the ribbon cutting ceremony. :) It doesn't seem "hospitalish", even re-habish at all. I am sure it doesn't feel like a hotel, but I liked that the rooms were quite homey and modern looking. :) I am also certain that ultimately "there is no place like home". However, as I am sure you are in agreement, if one has to be in a re-hab facility this type of atmosphere would be most preferable. :) Again, appreciative of the update and the positive progress report. :) That's wonderful that Acey can sit and lie down w/out much assistance now. Here's to continued improvement!!! Cheers!!! :) Hope you are doing well, Jalyn and the kids. :) May God continue to bless you all. Love, Dona P.S. Please do remember that if you need absolutely anything, do not hesitate to call. I mean that, sincerely. Say for instance, we were in town and you needed something picked up that you were unable to at the time. Hey, even some chocolate icecream. LOL. Ya know, for the kids. ;) Again, truly, if you need anything, holler...loudly. :) P.S.S. Have you had a chance to take the kids to the Falls, 'cause they are so spectacular this year? :) If you catch them mid-afternoon you usually are able to see the most beautiful double rainbows. Wow! Rainbows represent HOPE...
