March 19th 4:24pm

Today Acey is showing signs of small improvements. He can eat a little bit more then he did yesterday. Because he has been maintaining his status, and the doctors feel that the inflammation has stopped progressing and is now getting better, we are looking into Rehab for him. We are hoping for early this coming week, to be moved into a rehab facility, either here at the University Hospital or in Twin Falls. We don't know how long he will have be there for it all of that depends on how fast his brain heals and how fast he can regain function. He is talking more and staying awake more throughout the day with a little help of some drugs. His eyes are still really blurry but so much better then when they told us that he was going blind, and everyday there is little bits of improvements. So, we are just flying by the seat of our pants not really sure which direction to go, but hopefully in the near future we can be back home.

    Sounds like things are slowly getting better. Just as a FYI I have worked in a rehab center before and I would recommend going to some and talking with the staff (nurses, physical therapist, occupational therapists, etc) before deciding on which one to send him to. Let us know if you need any help. Jake and Carla

    First and foremost, thank you so much for the update. We are so encouraged by this news, as are certain you all are and say congrats to all! Acey, keep up the good fight. You are most capable of coming thru smelling like a rose. Well, maybe not a rose but you know what we mean. That would be just too odd for you to smell like a rose. LOL. ;) You are a first rate CHAMPION. Jalyn and rest of family, keep staying strong. You are CHAMPIONS, as well. :) We will do all we can when you return with anything that we can. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers...

    The human body is pretty darn amazing and Acey is pretty darn tough so I think you will see your own bed soon! Thanks for the update really appreciate it! Love You Guys, Rusty and Carla

    The rehab center that Rodney was in just before he died was really nice. It isn't too far from Dorene and Randy's.

    Oh so good to hear of the improvements...that would be awesome to be able to see you guys, and have you near us again!! I liked the comment about checking out staff before deciding which rehab to go to. We are still praying for you!!

    Glad to hear of the improvements. No matter how small they are big! My mom was telling me of a boy that has some virus and was in a wheel chair for 6 weeks, then he was all better. They didn't really know what was wrong. The body heals and we are constantly amazed. Love you all. Debi

    Don't know if this helps but the Speech Therapist here we use for school is the best!!!! She works out of Jerome, maybe you could use her when you get home? I will ask her if she knows anything about the Twin Falls rehab situation she might have some insight on that as well. Glad to see things are improving! The McDaniel Family
